“New Wine Ministries believes that churches are formed to change the world.”

From this principle the Gathering Place was born.

We are more than a traditional church building that is used only on Sunday and Wednesday nights. The Gathering Place is a center of community activity in the Meridian area.

All people regardless of human condition can find a place to rest, recover, and renew their spirit.

In “The Great Good Place”, sociologist Ray Oldenburg highlights the importance of “third places.” Oldenburg laments the loss of “third place” like the old country store and soda fountain and says that people need informal meeting places away from the concerns of work and home. Our goal is to help establish a third pace around the church building.

The Gathering Place’s philosophy is to bring together the non-believer and the believer into the same environment so they may build a stronger community.

New Wine Ministries is a multicultural church, that serves the total needs of people. A community where everyone is welcome regardless of their human condition. A church reaching UP in worship, reaching IN to discipleship and reaching OUT to the unreached.

The Gathering Place-East is the perfect place to host your next event. The Sanctuary offers a beautiful traditional place for your wedding ceremony, and banquet room down stairs could host a beautiful reception seating up to 300 people.
We hope to begin renting the Gathering Place-East in January 2011.
